Großglockner

enjoyable climbing at the Stüdlridge

1 1/2 day tour

Großglockner (3798m)

Impressive ascent at the ridge to the peak of the Glockner. The Stüdlridge is the most striking line to the peak coming from south.
Can be undertaken by enthusiastic experienced alpinists.

Alternatively, or with bad conditions on the Stüdelgrat, we can climb the normal route, past the Eidersruhe to the summit.

Day 1
From the Lucknerhütte (1918m) near Kals in East Tyrol, which can be reached via a toll road, we go up to the Stüdlhütte (2802m) together in 2 to 3 hours.

Day 2
In the early morning we will traverse over the Teischnitzkees to the entrance to Stüdelgraten (1,5 h). With climbing up to grade four, the Stüdl Ridge is a real alpine challenge. The rock is compact, and climbing passages and scrambles alternate. Descent over the Normal route and the Little Glockner to the Adlersruhe, and then back to the Stüdlhütte and Lucknerhaus.
