Mont Blanc, the quieter route

from Via Ref Gonella, Italy

3 days tour

Mont Blanc (4807m), the highest mountain in the Alps, is one of the most popular peak destinations.
A little distance away from the crowded climbs above Chamonix, we can climb over the spectacular, much less-traveled Italian route via Gonella hut in the Aosta Valley.

1st day
From Courmayeur (1224m) in about 5 hours to the Refugio Gonella (3071m).

2nd day
We will need about 6-8 hours to climb the1750 vertical meters above the Col des Aiguiller Gries (3810m) and the Dom de Gouter (4304m) to the summit.
Descend in about 4 hours on the french normal route to the Refuge de Tête Rousse (3167m).

3rd day
Nid d'Aigle and with the tram to les Houches. Then we take a taxi to the starting point.

We meet here: Ristorante La Palud (see Google Maps)
